Each volunteer physician must be board-certified or board eligible in internal medicine, family practice or emergency medicine. Pediatricians needed only for Norwalk Pediatric Clinic. All physicians are covered under AmeriCares Free Clinics' malpractice insurance policy for hte work that they do at the clinic. The clinics are located in Connecticut in Bridgeport, Danbury and Norwalk. Total Number of Volunteers Needed: 4 Find Out More Nurse needed for More than 1 year Opportunity Description: Registered Nurses are needed for each 3 hour clinic session. Volunteers usually choose to work 1 to 2 clinic sessions each month. Each clinic session is staffed by two registered nurses along with primary care providers. RN's are covvered by the AmeriCares Free Clinics' malpractice insurance policy for the work that they do at the clinic. The clinics are located in Connecticut in Bridgeport, Danbury and Norwalk. Total Number of Volunteers Needed: 3 Find Out More Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information) The AmeriCares Free Clinics in Norwalk, Danbury and Bridgeport provide primary care to uninsured Connecticut residents. Physicians in internal medicine, family practice, emergency medicine and pediatrics are needed for three-hour sessions, usually once per month. Specialists are also needed for referrals in Gastroenterology, Cariology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Opthamology and Orthopaedic surgery.
