Bugembe Initiative for Development (BID) is an action oriented community based organization dedicated to better quality of marginalised livelihoods to live better lives through empowering women, youth and vulnerable persons in a holistic, socio-economic approach.
The organization was founded in 2012 with its base in Bugembe, Jinja District and legally registered under The Directorate of Gender, Labour and community Services, Bugembe Town Council: Registration Number: BTC/CD/048
The initiative operates a saving and Credit scheme that allows members to borrow and save, Agricultural project which equip member with farming skills and generate income on top of other projects like soap making, Handcrafts etc, Child support programs, equipping the youth with sustainable skills, access to better health, safe water and better sanitation practices. Among others include,
