Opportunity Description:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern to help with promoting our event to local, national and international celebrities (athletes, actors, singers etc.) for the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Simon Fraser Branch First Annual Run and Walk Event. Be part of history in the making!
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Research, contact and solicit local, national and international celebrities or their managers for promotion and awareness of the run and CMHA activities—requesting appearance, in kind donations (concert tickets, CDs etc.) for our event.
Skills Required
- Excellent Communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Willing to learn about fundraising / promotion strategies and mental health issues
- Good initiative and commitment
- Able to work in a team, as well as individually

Corporate Sponsorship Leader Internship needed for

Opportunity Description:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern to help with fundraising for the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Simon Fraser Branch First Annual Run and Walk Event. Be part of history in the making!
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with other fundraising volunteers and follow up on progress
- Research and target companies and organizations that may provide funding, sponsorship and/or grants for the run and/or other CMHA activities.
- Coordinate distribution of sponsorship package to companies and organizations
- Schedule meetings with companies for marketing/sponsorship calls
- Network in the business community for contacts
- Act as liaison and support for the sponsor requests
- Follow with sponsors with thank you cards and recognition

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Distribute, manage a team of volunteers and coordinate the distribution of flyers at community centers, neighbourhood houses, schools, companies, or other organizations that would post information in their community
- Contact and solicit the leaders at elementary, high schools and universities, colleges and other groups for promotion and awareness of the run and CMHA activities
- Liaise and act as the contact person with school teams interested in participating in our event.
