Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Cedars Medical Center is located in the heart of Miami. We are an accredited 560-bed, full service hospital that provides acute care and private rooms for all patients.

The role of the volunteers in the hospital is to assist Cedars Medical Center in achieving the hospitals mission:
To provide high quality, cost effective healthcare services and to promote these services in the community, volunteers achieve these goals by:
-Augmenting and expanding the services provided by Cedars staff.
-Providing desirable supplemental services which contribute to total patient care and patient satisfaction.
-Assisting the non-patient care departments by providing clerical support.
-Helping to create and to promote in the community an understanding of the hospital and its services through the volunteers who become part of the hospital family.

In order to maintain a support system for the provision of quality healthcare services, the department directors, including the Director of Volunteer Services, developed Service Guidelines for each volunteer position. The Volunteer Education Plan and Mentor Program provides competency-based orientation, continuing education, training and ensures that all volunteers are informed about their responsibilities and how to fulfill them safely and effectively. Volunteers are given the opportunity to serve in numerous departments or programs that are directly or indirectly involved with patient care.

Whether you are considering becoming part of our Professionals Volunteering for Professionals, Come Grow with Us Programs or join our Auxiliary, each individual contributes to the vital services provided to the hospital. As long as you are motivated to give of yourself, there is no limit to what you can do. For those whose wish is simply to give back to the community, the opportunity awaits to actively join hands with others who share an interest in maintaining the quality of services provided to our patients and their family members.
