Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Serving the working uninsured since 1992, the clinic seeks volunteers to see patients on-site during evening hours. Time commitments generally range from once per week to once per quarter. All specialties are welcome; however, family physicians, internists, cardiologists, psychiatrists and endocrinologists are most needed. The clinic hopes to expand its services to reach the 8,500 to 10,000 people in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area that qualify for free care.
The Charlottesville Free Clinic serves the working uninsured. Working people who do not have any health insurance and do not qualify for free care at local hospitals may be eligible for our care. Patients need to complete a financial screening to be seen at our clinic. Financial screenings can be done by telephone at 434-296-5525 or in person at the clinic office. People who qualify for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, or are unemployed may be eligible for free care or reduced cost care at UVA Hospital or Martha Jefferson Hospital. Patients need to complete a financial screening at the hospital of their choice.

Clinic Appointments Our primary clinics are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Our new day appointments are: Tuesday 9:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday 9:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday 9:15 a.m. to Noon People in need of immunizations, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, HIV tests, and related health services should contact the local health dept., serving Charlottesville, Albemarle, Greene, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Nelson. Teens in need of birth control, pregnancy testing, or prenatal care should contact the Teen Health Center or Planned Parenthood. |
