Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
The Florida Association of Voluntary Agencies for Caribbean Action (FAVA/CA) is a non-profit organization that arranges short-term technical assistance and training in health, agriculture, social services, education and more by professionals in Florida at the request of our partner organizations in the Caribbean and Central America. FAVA/CA's volunteers are experts in their fields from corporations, government, universities, professional and trade associations. Volunteers serve a relatively short one or two weeks in the field per consultation, but can return as often as dictated by the needs of the partner. Many consultants develop life-long relationships with colleagues overseas. No language is necessary, however Spanish, French, and Creole are helpful. A 3 to 10 day stay is typical.
