• Must show interest in working with the underinsured or uninsured.
Position Description
-Participation in health fairs and community events in helping reach out to the underserved in the community.
-Partnering with community groups( like churches, soup kitchens, food pantries, schools ect) in educating its members about the program.
-Reaching out to high risk men and women for cancer screening services

In The Pink Cancer Early Detection and Education Program (St. Michael’s Medical Center)
Mission Statement:
In the Pink Cancer Early Detection and Education Program is a program of Saint Michael’s Medical Center, Newark New Jersey. Our mission is to eradicate cancer as a life threatening disease in our community (Essex County); to foster the values of love, compassion, justice and reverence for life and to support services which improve or maintain quality of life for all. The primary objective of the Program is to increase the proportion of age-appropriate men and women who are screened for breast, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer by:
• Providing education, outreach, free or low cost screenings and treatment to men and women that qualify through the Program.
• Providing free screenings and follow-up services to uninsured and underinsured men and women.
• Reaching out to engage high risk men and women for screening services etc
This program is seeking volunteers willing to render their time and services to helping raise the cancer awareness in the Essex Community.
