LIVELIHOOD is an not-for-profit, non-governmental development Organisation, created and has been working in Cameroon since 1996. The Organisations head office is located at Cow Street - Nkwen, in Bamenda, Cameroon. We need volunteers through out the year
Our mission is to collaborate with national and international states, organisations, institutions, communities, and individuals in the process of poverty alleviation, through the provision of health facilities and services, development of sustainable agricultural income-generating activities, education and training, environmental development programmes, which will lead to a sustainable and stable improvement on the living standard of individuals and communities (rural and urban).
In Health we currently operate two Health Centres - one in Atuaziri quarters in Bamenda and the other at Nsei - Bamessing a typical rural village setup. Our Health outreach activities in the Communities include, HIV/AIDS sensitisation/Voluntary counseling and Testing, Immunisation, hygiene and sanitation, Reproductive health activities to young people especially girls aged from 10 to 18 years, as well as family planning activities for women and couples in our health Centres, fight against malaria. The Health Centres also carryout diverse medical consultation and treatment for people of all ages, including deliveries and other maternity services. Our health Centres are not quite equiped and barely have some basic diagnostic and consultation equipment.
We will like to received volunteers who may have some experience in of different health backgrounds ranging from clinical health practices (Medical Doctors, Nurses, Diagnostic laboratory technicians etc) outreach health workers, volunteers for the mobilisation of funds for health projects (fundraising), and others. We equally seek affiliation to medical training institutions and faculties.
