It is a 367 bed hospital that provides 24-hour emergency and trauma care, inpatient rehabilitation, orthopedics, neuroscience, trauma, cancer, diabetes, digestive, general surgery, urology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and many other specialties. The adjoining Medical Office Center houses physicians offices and other medical and support services. Lee Memorial Hospital is part of the Lee Memorial Health System and our volunteers touch many lives in many different ways. They greet you with a warm welcome and a comforting smile. They treat you with compassion and strengthen you with their bright smile. Volunteers serve patients, families and staff with great devotion. Several different types of volunteer opportunities are available at all three facilities. Some volunteer service areas may include interaction with our patient population. Other areas do not include patient contact such as Trolley Service, Gift Shop, Thrift Shop, reception and clerical positions. If you are unable to volunteer at the hospital, you can contribute from your homes. Our home volunteers make phone calls, knit or crochet baby hats, booties, blankets and hats for our chemo patients. Our goal is to place you in a service area of your choice and interest.
