Partners in Care Volunteer Program needed for
6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description:
Volunteers are needed to visit with patients at the bedside and to assist nurses and unit staff in creating the highest caliber environment of care for our patients. Duties may include:
• Providing communication and socialization to patients, family and friends during hospitalization.
• Facilitating mealtimes through assistance and companionship.
• Offering activities or services of the hospital during their stay (show patient how to use TV, patient education videos, offer library services).
• Connecting patients/family members/ care givers with nursing staff as needed for timely response to needs.
HOURS NEEDED: 1-2 times a week from 3-6; 5-8; 6-9 pm seven days a week.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Speak, read and write English
• Must be outgoing, friendly, supportive
• Must be comfortable in hospital environment
• Able to work alone yet communicate with nursing/unit supervisor

Web Design with Open Text Volunteer needed for
1 to 3 months
Opportunity Description:
Volunteers are needed to support departments and units at MMC through the design and updating of Intranet web sites viewed by hospital staff using Open Text software (training provided).
Duties may include:
• Attending Open Text training class.
• Meeting and communicating with a department to determine content.
• Updating and proofing the site.

Cardiac Clinical Trials Volunteers needed for
6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description:
Volunteers are needed to be part of support team for clinical cardiac research trials. Volunteer will provide office support through filing, phone or other duties and also navigate participants to and from their testing sites within Morristown Medical Center. This is a highly rewarding position for the right individual.
Duties may include:
• Filing, checking paperwork.
• Making phone calls and sending faxes.
• Acting as host for a participant by escorting them to test sites within MMC.
HOURS NEEDED: 2-3 times a week for 3-4 hours M-F during the business day.

Discharge Patient Phone Calls Volunteers needed for
3 to 6 months
Opportunity Description:
Volunteers are needed to work with various nursing units and departments to make phone calls to discharged patients to follow up on their care plans and general health.
Duties may include:
• Department training of scripted phone calls do’s and don’ts.
• Making phone call and treating discharged patients with excellent customer satisfaction.
• Recording/reporting findings to unit or department supervisor.
HOURS NEEDED: TBD.
