Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
The Peninsula Medical Reserve Corps' mission is to augment and assist existing community operations plans during large-scale emergencies, aid in the response to pressing healthcare needs, and improve community emergency preparedness.
All medical and nonmedical volunteers are welcome. Spanish and sign language interpreters are needed.
4-6 hours of yearly training is required. During local emergencies MRC volunteers work 12 hours shifts for up to 3 days. Post disasters the MRC unit will be deployed nationally to support the Department of Health & Human Services. |
