Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Project RBG seeks to take the knowledge and experiences accumulated by UCLA college students to the community and youth of Arlington Heights Elementary School in hope of strengthening this community?s ambition, knowledge, awareness, goal setting, and individualities through the tutoring, mentoring, and teaching of academics and social skills. Our program is an after school-based outreach and mentoring program designated for elementary students, 3rd - 5th grade. Project RBG offers social skills seminars that enhance and develop leadership training, assertiveness, how-to-deal with peer pressure, teamwork and teambuilding, and culture and diversity. A new aspect we would like to add to the curriculum for this upcoming year is academic skills or study skills, such as time management and how to be an active learner. The program will run for 2 hours a day, twice a week for the entire year.
