Surgery Waiting Room Attendant needed for More than 1 year
Opportunity Description: Provides excellent customer service to surgery patients and their family/companions in order to contribute to efficient operations, family comfort and patient satisfaction with the hospital experience. 1. Maintains knowledge of surgery waiting room policies and procedures in order to assist hospital customers. Explains, but never enforces, policies and procedures, referring all complaints, problems and suggestions to Surgery leadership. 2. Keeps waiting room tidy and welcoming, makes coffee and maintains supplies; requests service from housekeeping, facilities or other departments as needed. 3. Offers a warm, friendly greeting and smile to patients and family/companions as they enter and leave the waiting room. 4. Determines the customer’s needs and responds according to Position-Specific Instructions. Asks, “Is there anything else I can do for you?” 5. Answers and makes phone calls; completes light paperwork. 6. Escorts patients and family/companions. 7. Runs errands to other departments for O.R. staff as needed. 8. Other duties as assigned provided they are within the scope of volunteer responsibility. Time Commitment: One four hour shift per week for one year.
