Current Volunteer Opportunities (Unpaid Positions)
Volunteer Peer Health Educator needed for 6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description: Live and work full time in a rural community of India, Nepal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda or Zambia for 6-12 months teaching adolescent sexual and reproductive health classes in primary and secondary schools; establishing youth resource centers with youth-friendly information on their health and professional development; organize community-wide health awareness festivals and seminars; and supervise extracurricular activities for in- and out-of-school youth. All International Volunteer Peer Educators are placed with at least one national partner recruited from a local high school or university. Must have a minimum of a high school degree, be enthusiastic about young people taking a leadership role in the development of their communities and be open and flexible to new experiences.
