Medical Volunteer needed for
Opportunity Description: In April 2009, VEC completed construction of a school in the rural region of Helambu, Nepal. The Pasang Memorial Community Boarding School consists of two building and provides over a hundred students from Sherpa, Tamang, Yolmo, Rai and other ethnic groups from classes one to five with tuition free education. VEC is looking for a Medical Volunteer who could volunteer full time at our boarding school for at least 1 month. Ideally he/she would be a physician or pediatrician with minimum 1 year experience and able to live and work in a remote area of Nepali Himalayas.

Short Term Medical Volunteer needed for Less than 1 month
Opportunity Description: Every six months VEC organizes a Health Camp. Our medical volunteers visit remote villages of Helambu region of Nepali Himalayas and provide medical assistance to the villagers. Health Camp usually lasts about 7 days. We provide food and accommodation for our volunteers.

The work of Village Environment Community Gangkharka (VEC) is to help empower the populations of Nepals Sindhupalchok District, specifically the areas of Helambu and Baruwa, to meet basic needs, and raise the standard of living in the villages of this isolated Himalayan region. By focusing on the issues of education and healtcare, VECs aim is to perform basic development projects that respect the cultures and environment of the Sherpa, Yolmo, and Tamang populations that call this corner of the world their home.
