It all starts with a desire to help others by donating your time and talent. As a volunteer, youll work with our hospital staff to provide quality care to patients and assist in meeting the needs of our patients and their family and visitors. What Our Volunteers Do Greet patients and visitors. Provide information and directions. Transport patients (CPR training is a pre-requisite for this activity). Assist with clerical work in business offices, medical offices, nursing units, food service offices and registration. Provide sales and stocking assistance in the gift shop. Pick up and transport lab specimens for prompt analysis. Provide customer service for patients, allowing hospital staff to focus on efficient medical care. Work behind the scenes in food service by stocking shelves and surveying patients. Visit with patients and offer them water, magazines and other amenities. File and pull x-rays; copy and send reports. Work with children on the Pediatrics Unit or in the Rainbow Childrens Center.
